Two Men Charged with Prison Murder of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder in the wake of the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 stand indicted for homicide and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per police authorities.

Watkins, forty-eight, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were seized.
