Helicopter Spins Out of Control into Palm Trees at Popular Southern California Coast
A chopper flying over a popular southern California beach unexpectedly commenced twirling uncontrollably, eventually losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Videos uploaded on social media show the aircraft starting to spin over Huntington Beach then descending near the border of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters stated five people were taken to hospital involving a pair who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the pavement were injured. Details on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was still under investigation.
